The lifetime goal is to be able to "do" 60 minutes of movement every day. And to introduce a simple form of strength training 3 times per week - dumbbells, press ups, pull ups or something similar that you can "do" forever...

Measurement instead of judgement is much more helpful than the negative self talk that we all seem to suffer with...

Stage 1 - Begin measuring your current level of daily activity. Even if you get out of breath after 1 minute - don't worry - just measure that in your diary and aim for 1 minute tomorrow. When your breathing is less problematic - move for 2 minutes. You will be surprised at how quickly you progress.

Stage 2 - Begin to add to it until you are moving consistently for 60 minutes. If you can walk consistently for 60 minutes - then begin jogging, sprinting or even just walking more briskly.

Stage 3 - To choose to change your body shape, introduce a simple strength program 3 times per week.

Stage 4 - Continue forever...

The reality is you - yes you - can begin the process of "getting better" today...
